Troubleshooting Guide
Solutions to common issues and problems.
Wallpaper not changing automatically
Solution: Ensure Wallpyria has the necessary permissions. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders, and verify Wallpyria is allowed to access your files. Also check that "Launch at Login" is enabled for scheduler to work in the background.
Video wallpapers not playing
Solution: Video wallpapers require macOS 14.0 or later. Ensure your video file is in a supported format (MP4, MOV, .saver). Try restarting the app.
App crashes when switching wallpaper modes
Solution: This was fixed in version 1.0.1. Update to the latest version from the App Store or wallpyria.altlogic.pl/en/download/.
Panorama mode doesn't match preview
Solution: This was fixed in version 1.0.1. The preview now exactly matches the final wallpaper with preserved scale and offset. Update to the latest version.
Can't restore purchases after reinstalling
Solution: Open Wallpyria and open the purchase screen: click the trial banner at the top of the main window, or click "Set Wallpaper" after the trial has ended. Then click "Restore Purchases" at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Scheduler not running in background
Solution: The scheduler requires "Launch at Login" to be enabled. Go to Preferences → General and enable this setting. Then restart Wallpyria.
ML Upscaling is very slow
Solution: ML Upscaling is CPU/GPU intensive. On older Macs or Intel processors, it may take longer. Try using "High" or "Super High" quality instead, which use traditional upscaling methods (Lanczos/Bicubic) and are much faster.
Dynamic wallpapers not changing with time
Solution: Make sure your dynamic wallpaper has proper metadata. In the Dynamic Wallpaper editor, verify that each image has a time/solar/appearance value set. Export the wallpaper and try setting it again.
Monitor layout not correct
Solution: Wallpyria detects your system's monitor arrangement. If it's incorrect, go to System Settings → Displays → Arrange to configure your monitors properly in macOS first. Then restart Wallpyria.
App doesn't appear in menu bar
Solution: The app is designed as a menu bar app. Look in the top-right corner of your screen (near the clock). If you still don't see it, check if you're hiding menu bar items. Right-click the menu bar and select "Show All Menu Bar Items".
Still having issues?
